"The ice storm of December 2008 hit my mother hard. Three days of no electricity led to frozen water
pipes and extensive water damage. Not knowing where to begin, Scot Deckard, my mother’s neighbor,
stepped in on his own accord and started the restoration process. Scot covered it all, from getting the
boiler and pipes repaired, gutting the entire downstairs, getting the proper people in to do plumbing,
drywall, painting, cabinetry and every last detail you can imagine. Scot took this project over out of
pure “love thy neighbor” with no anticipated benefit to himself. He stuck with us through the entire
two month process. The ice storm of 2008 will never be forgotten by my family nor will the kindness
